Virgin PP woven fabric is made from new polypropylene resin. Recycled fabric uses reprocessed PP, sometimes mixed with virgin. Both can be legitimate industrial materials. They are not the same when you compare tensile, color, odor and outdoor life.
Do not treat “recycled” as automatically worse, or “virgin” as automatically export-grade. Write the resin requirement into the RFQ and test the sample on your process.
What usually changes

When recycled is reasonable
- Dark rolls where color match is loose.
- Short-cycle wrapping or inner packaging, not a multi-year outdoor cover.
- The buyer accepts a sample and a written recycle ratio.
Black woven fabric roll still needs UV and tensile confirmed even if recycled content is allowed.
When to specify virgin or a high-virgin blend
- White, yellow or printed faces. See white and clear options.
- Light-color packaging fabric where specks or odor will be rejected.
- Outdoor covering with a stated exposure period.
How to write it in the inquiry
State one of:
- 100% virgin PP;
- recycled allowed, max X% (if you have a number);
- recycled allowed for dark colors only;
- resin to match an approved sample.
Then still send GSM, width, lamination, UV and application. Resin is one line, not the whole spec.
